About us

Get Up and Go Colombia (GGC) is a youth-led non-profit organization which started in 2016 by local young people from Cauca. It aims to empower communities affected by conflict through sustainable tourism, social entrepreneurship, languages and community-led development. We also co-design transformative experiences with communities that connect travelers with local stories, contributing to socioeconomic opportunities, and promoting peacebuilding across Colombia.

Our work

We believe in the transformative power of travel to create social change. Our work is rooted in empowering communities affected by conflict, contributing to sustainable development, and connecting local resilience to global opportunities. Our initiatives are organized around four key thematic areas: sustainable tourism, social entrepreneurship, bilinguism and peacebuilding.

Three reasons to visit

Tiuspa Café, our peace center

1. A blend of culture and peacebuilding

Tiuspa Café is more than a coffee shop. It is a living peace center where culture, dialogue and community led initiatives come together in one shared space. Every experience, from the coffee you drink to the stories you hear, is designed with a purpose: to support local communities, amplify voices affected by conflict and contribute to peacebuilding through everyday encounters.

2. Coffee beans with flavour of peace

At Tiuspa Café, every cup of coffee tells a story of transformation. Our beans come from territories that have chosen legal, sustainable crops as alternatives to violence and illegal economies. By enjoying our coffee, you support farmers and communities who are building peaceful livelihoods, turning the flavour of coffee into a symbol of resilience, dignity and hope.

3. An intercultural space for languages

Tiuspa Café is a space where languages, cultures and people meet. Through language exchanges, workshops and shared experiences, locals and international visitors connect beyond words, building understanding and respect across cultures. These intercultural encounters create meaningful dialogue and strengthen peace by bringing people together through communication and curiosity.

Our projects

We co-design projects with communities affected by conflict, rooted in their needs and guided by four pillars that connect, empower, and build skills for a brighter, more peaceful future in Cauca and across Colombia.

A wonderful tour with lots of interesting information and a very, very professional guide who knows all the history and details of his city. Fantastic, it's a must-do if you're in Popayan. Highly, highly recommended.

Miguel gave us a really interesting tour around the beautiful ciudad Blanca! He told nice, short stories and we saw a lot of places. Would really recommend going with them to get to know the city.
One thing though. We wanted to do the tour on Tuesday and we registered through their website the day before. When we waited in front of the church the next day, nobody showed up. Afterwards, during the night, we got an email which explained why the tour hadn’t taken place. It would have been nice to get this beforehand, so we weren’t waiting for nobody.. For us it was a big bummer to not be able to do the tour that day.

A very good walking tour. It was just the two of us with the guide. Very interesting, with lots of anecdotes, and a tasting of regional products. I recommend it!
The guides are very good, very knowledgeable, and offer English-speaking service. It's completely free, and they only accept tips at the end.
